Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, October 5, 2026 – Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, today announced the opening of ticket sales for its three-times-weekly service between Riyadh and Jakarta, marking a key addition to its growing Asian network and its 16th destination on sale, with more destinations set to be announced in the coming days and weeks. Commencing November 16, 2026, the route expands Riyadh Air’s footprint across Asia and creates a strategic connection between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world’s most populous island and Southeast Asia’s largest economy, supporting the airline’s mission to connect major global hubs through Riyadh.

Tony Douglas, Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Air, said: “Opening ticket sales for Jakarta marks another important milestone in Riyadh Air’s rapid expansion across Asia and the continued growth of our global network. This new direct connection between Riyadh and Jakarta will strengthen the ties between two important G20 nations, supporting growing business, tourism and religious travel while providing guests from Indonesia with seamless access to the Kingdom and our expanding network beyond Riyadh. We look forward to welcoming guests on board our state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and delivering the exceptional, digitally led experience and authentic Saudi hospitality that define Riyadh Air.”

Riyadh Air will operate one weekly flight from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) to Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK), departing Riyadh at 10:50 PM and arriving in Jakarta at 12:00 PM the following day[RG1.1], local time. The return service will depart Jakarta at 3:00 PM and arrive in Riyadh at 8:15 PM local time. The route will be operated on Riyadh Air’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring the airline’s latest cabin interiors and onboard experience.

Riyadh Air’s new direct route between Riyadh and Jakarta connects the capital cities of two G20 nations at a time of accelerating trade, corporate travel, and religious tourism. Total bilateral trade reached US$6.6 billion in 2025 and hit US$2.6 billion in the first half of 2026 alone, backed by robust automotive exchange exceeding US$1.7 billion annually that underscores a dense corporate travel link between key manufacturing and commerce hubs.

Crucially, the non-stop capital-to-capital service captures government, diplomatic, and executive traffic while opening an essential new gateway for religious visitors from Indonesia – the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation.

As Saudi Arabia’s capital and commercial hub, Riyadh offers visitors from Jakarta direct access to modern attractions, cultural landmarks and a growing economic landscape. Beyond point-to-point travel, the service positions Riyadh as a premier transport hub, offering seamless onward connections across Riyadh Air’s wider global network.

For Saudi travelers, the new route opens direct access to Indonesia’s leisure experiences, from shopping, dining and cultural attractions in Jakarta to beach holidays, nature-based escapes and resorts elsewhere in the country. Visitors can combine time in the capital with trips to other regions, making Indonesia an appealing option for both short breaks and extended holidays.
